When do late car payments get reported to the credit bureau?

April asked:
I am 10 days late because I had to help my sibling with one of their bills. When will the auto loan company report my payment late to the credit bureau? I’ve been on time for the past 10 payments.

at the bank i work at, it is after 60 days. but i do not know if it is different for every company. i say… just call them and ask.
the credit bureau’s will only let your lein holder report you as 30-60 or 90 days late. until you hit that 30 day mark youre ok.
If it’s over 30 days late, it will appear that you missed a payment on your credit report. If you’ve ever gone on freecreditreport.com and obtained your credit report(s), you’ll notice that they actually have color coded boxes for each of your car payments. Should you miss one of those payments (30 days or more late), that month will have a big red shaded box for a missed payment.
Get in touch with the loan company you financed your car with so you know ahead of time, some may even work with you if you let them know and have had a good history with them.On credit reports I have seen reports when they are listed 30 days late or more on payment.
Sometimes different companies different rules..Good luck.
Don’t make yourself crazy over this.Get in touch with them asap
creditors don’t report late payments till they are 30 days. You will just get a late payment fee.
