credit score
Autumn Interlude asked:

My credit score is around 500. I’m 21 years old and I have made some pretty poor decisions regarding my financial obligations. (PLEASE, do not post any negative information or comments telling me to get back on track and how important good credit is. I KNOW THIS and since March of this year, I have gotten back on track.) How much can my score go up after I continue paying my bills on time and get some bills out of collections? Thanks.

lending
Greasy Tony asked:

My parents are thinking of selling thier home and relocating. What are the risks as retired seniors with the bad stock and realestate market? With the tight lending standards, what are thier chances of even getting a loan at their age?

They have good credit and good equity in thier current home. But not too much income.

credit report
AnswerGuy769 asked:

Recently, on my credit report I found delinquent balances reported for credit cards and loans that belong to someone else with the same name. The only recourse I’ve been told I have is to send in a written request to remove these items. The problem is that my credit cards limits are now being reduced because of these items on my credit report. Is there any way to have credit resolve this is a timely manner?

credit reference agency
thehousemedic asked:

I own several properties and one of my tenants have asked for me to write a credit reference letter stating that his “account” is in good standing. It is, he needs this to obtain a mortgage and since I do not report to the credit agencies the loan officer has requested a letter from me stating this. I have been all over the net to write up something nice, professional and business like to state this. I have never had to do this before for a tenant, and since my tenant does not have a lot information on his credit history, he needs some additional credit references. Either a web site that would give some examples would be great. I could not find anything on microsoft word, or I may not have been using the correct wording to look this item up.
Everytime I try to type something up it sounds kind of bad. I need a template of some sort.
Global M,
I found this on the web earlier and it is way to indepth for what I want to do. I want to keep it simple but sound professional.

Thank you

obtaining credit
dchambe05 asked:

I’m a full time college student with two part-time jobs. I’m not making that much money but I will be gradutating from college (again) sometime soon with my BA this time. I know that I’m going to need credit in order to do alot of things. I have several bills that I pay automatically and on time every month with my check card, but to my knowledge that really doesn’t mean much. The safest approach to gaining credit that my bank informed me about was to purchase gas/groceries with my check card. However, I dont have a car at this time. Along with that I dont have a steady grocery purchasing schedule, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

credit bureau
happy asked:

I am facing a situation with a Credit Bureau – Equifax. It is regarding my personal information being updated incorrectly on my credit file they have. After providing them the proof of my correct date of birth, they did change it to the correct one on July 12, 2007. I noticed effective July 24, 2007 it has been changed back to the incorrect one that I disputed earlier. Upon my calling Equifax I was informed that they will change my personal information based on the report they receive form their member creditor(s).

My concern is that they rely more on their member creditors than the proof that was provided to them for my correct date of birth. I wonder if Equifax, and other credit bureaus for that matter, would do the same for any personal information.

I would appreciate any suggestion you can provide on how to handle/deal with this problem.
I have already provided them copy of my DL and they did change it to correct DOB on July 12, 2007. But I was told by Equifax today that based on a member creditor’s report they changed DOB back to the incorrect one. I unsuccessfully tried to have them explain to me that why they rely more on member creditor’s report when they have proof of my DOF in heir files. It was VERY frustrating. They won’t tell me which creditor reported wrong DOB, instead they suggested that I should call ALL the creditors I have/am dealing with.
